• Kent’s Bio
Kent graduated from Taylor University in Upland, Indiana in 1999 with a degree in Music Composition. In 2000, he ventured out to Los Angeles where he earned a Certificate in Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television from the University of Southern California. In addition to loving music, Kent had an interest in computers and was fascinated with the internet boom going on at the time. So he decided to pursue a career in web development while continuing to enjoy music on the side. Kent moved back to the Midwest 2001 and was hired as a web developer for a small business in the Central Illinois area.
Realizing that he wanted to have his own business instead of working for someone else, Kent started reading and researching all types of business and marketing books. He put his first plan into action and launched his first software product in 2004, an email and RSS autoresponder system. Although it is no longer for sale, the project was used as a springboard into the marketplace and led to many partnerships with other internet marketers.
In 2005, Kent and his wife Regan decided to move to the Chicago area to take advantage of the wealth of opportunities only available in the big city. There Kent developed PHP applications for another small company in downtown Chicago while continuing to work on his own business interests.
In July 2007, Kent decided to go full time with his own business ventures and has enjoyed every minute. He enjoys being able to work at home, be his own boss, and best of all spend more time with his son, Alex, born in April 2007.
Kent and his wife currently live in La Grange Park, Illinois. In his spare time he enjoys running on the forest preserve trail behind their house and playing the piano and drums. Kent and his wife also enjoy playing and singing in the praise band at their local church, going out to eat on the weekends, and watching their first son grow up. Over the course of his career Kent has developed a shopping cart, two different live chat programs, two ticketing systems, a knowledge database, a survey program, two email marketing programs, an RSS autoresponder service, a podcasting service, an MLM payment distribution system, and a traffic exchange network. His platform of choice is the popular LAMP stack: Linux, PHP, Apache, MySQL.
Kent currently develops web applications for businesses of all sizes on a work-for-hire or partnership basis.
